David Beck received his B.A. from Harvard College and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He was a practicing attorney of New Jersey for almost 60 years. He was a founding member of, Sills Beck Cummis Radin and Tischman, P.A., now named Sills Cummis and Gross, P.C.

Mr. Beck was formerly an Attorney with the Tax Division, Department of Justice, Washington, D.C.; Lecturer in Taxation, Rutgers University School of Business Administration; Assistant Professor and, more recently, Adjunct Professor of Law, Rutgers University School of Law, and Adjunct Professor of Law, Seton Hall University. He has been special lecturer in Taxation at various Tax Institutes and Seminars, among which have been those sponsored by New York University, Tulane University, University of West Virginia, Dickinson College, Wilkes College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Seton Hall Law School, Practicing Law Institutes of New York and New Jersey and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education of New Jersey. He was formerly a member of the Advisory Committee, New York University Institute on Federal Taxation.

He is co-author of Tax Avoidance vs. Tax Evasion (Ronald Press, New York, 1958); and author of Collected Studies in Federal Taxation, 1945-1975, New Jersey Law Journal Publishing Co. 1975; and Collected Studies in Federal Taxation, 1975-1985, New Jersey Law Journal Publishing Co., 1985.
