William M. Cox is a graduate of Syracuse University (AB) 1947 and Cornell University (JD) 1950. He is a consultant on planning and zoning matters to several municipalities, property owners and developers. He is a member of the Newton law firm of Dolan and Dolan, P.A.
He was formerly an attorney for many municipalities, county and municipal planning boards, zoning boards of adjustment, urban renewal projects, watershed coalitions, municipal utility authorities and boards of education.
In addition to holding office and membership in numerous professional organizations, Mr. Cox is General Counsel Emeritus to the New Jersey Planning Officials, past president of the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys and a member from its inception of the Municipal Land Use Law Drafting Committee, serving as chairman of the Committee from 1993 to 1998. In 1999, the New Jersey Institute for Municipal Attorneys created the "William M. Cox Award" to be presented to attorneys and judges for excellence in the field of land use law. Mr. Cox was the first recipient of this award.
Mr. Cox developed the course "Principles of Zoning Administration" and was a co-adjutant faculty member of the Department of Government Services, Division of Continuing Education of Rutgers, the State University from 1968 to 1998. He is biographied in such works as "Whos Who in America", "Whos Who in the World", "Dictionary of International Biography", "Men of Achievement", "Who's Who in American Law" and other similar publications.
Donald M. Ross
N.J. Zoning and Land Use Administration
Donald M. Ross is a graduate of Seton Hall University (B.A.) and Fordham University School of Law (J.D.) and is a member of the Newton law firm of Dolan and Dolan, P.A. He is also a Vice President of Intrawest Corporation, the largest developer of mountain resorts in the U.S., and is responsible for the future development of the Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon. Mr. Ross is a Diplomate in New Jersey Municipal Law and has served as counsel to many planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment. His practice includes the representation of corporate, institutional and non-profit organizations.
A member of numerous professional organizations, Mr. Ross serves as Associate Counsel to New Jersey Planning Officials and is a member of the Municipal Land Use Law Technical Review Committee and the Institute of Municipal Attorneys. He is a frequent writer and lecturer on land use law, environmental law, and community association law.
